Gospel Music
Gospel Music is a musical genre that has stood the test of time. Gospel music has been composed of messages of safety and freedom to hope and salvation. The genre of music has also influenced other genres such as jazz and blues. The history of Gospel Music and the roles of extrinsic influences, and its importance concerning the foundation and development of Gospel Music help students achieve a diverse understanding of music.
Purpose
The Divine Sound Gospel Choir helps us to achieve the mission of the Centre because it is a diverse program that can expose the community to another genre of music they have yet to experience. In addition, choirs are normally less expensive to operate for music centers and students because their instruments are their voices, and the music is normally taught by rote, or ear, and there is less investment needed by the family or individual. If you are interested in singing with us, join us every Sunday at 5 pm.
